Huddle Up Hoops is a basketball & life skills program founded in Powell, Ohio, focused on developing children’s ability, confidence, and desire to stay ACTIVE and READY for life.

What started with a love for the game and a dream grew into something much bigger. As parents of four children, the King Family built Huddle Up Hoops with a vision to impact the younger generation through basketball, mentorship, and life lessons that extend far beyond the court.

We partner with childcare centers, churches, and community centers to introduce basketball to children as young as 18 months old. Each class and training session is designed with intention: to impact the future, strengthen our communities, and help young people discover that they have the ability to change the world.

We create meaningful moments where children can connect the positive environment of sports to the lessons it brings into their everyday lives.

Our goal is to develop great basketball players, but more importantly, great people.

"Basketball is a beautiful game. Not only is it fun, but because it mimics real life in so many ways, it has the potential to instill and grow great human qualities into the person who chooses to pursue it. My strong belief is that it's the responsibility of the coach to create an environment and connect with their players in a way that helps elicit these qualities - Humility, Compassion, Courage, Kindness, Discipline, Integrity, Empathy, Creativity, Self-Awareness, Respect, Patience... and the list goes on. I don't take that responsibility lightly. I want to give every player I interact with the opportunity to see the game of basketball the way I see it, and to love it the way I love it. That comes from truly understanding how to humbly serve a team, where players and coaches are united by mutual accountability and the drive to reach their maximum potential.
